Coordinator Stacey Burkholder

Our Bridge Christian Church family strives to build relationships and serve the people outside of the walls of our building. If you are interested or have questions about any of the opportunities you see, please call (540-712-0770) or email (brccoutreach1@gmail.com)!

If you enjoy working with your hands, then Rugged Hands Ministry will be a perfect ministry for you to serve in. Our Rugged Hands team serves our community by completing landscaping, building, and remodeling small projects for the elderly, handicapped, and other families in seasons of need. This is a great place to meet and serve alongside other like-minded members of our Bridge family.

Bridge has partnered with the staff at the Shenandoah Nursing Home to spend time with our elderly neighbors that live there. As a member of the Nursing Home Ministry you will have the opportunity to visit and build relationships with some of our treasured seniors. Our team meets on Sunday afternoons at the SNH to share a short message, lead some familiar Hymns, and most importantly build relationships with the residents.

Each year Bridge volunteers fill and pack hundreds of shoe boxes with necessities and toys for children all over the world thru Operation Christmas Child. This ministry also travels to national packing centers where they help to prepare the thousands of boxes for shipment to their deserving recipients.

(Community Service Projects) If you enjoy giving back to the community you live in, then our Go Groups Ministry may be a great fit! Go Groups work and serve by doing everything from trail clearing in local parks, supporting local first- responder teams, or helping to deliver and host our community "Party On Wheels" trailer.

Open Doors ministry offers an exciting opportunity to serve as a host to many community, business, and civic groups that use our church on a regular basis. One of our goals as a church is to use our facility to bless and serve our community as many days of the week as we can. If you enjoy hosting and meeting people this is a rewarding opportunity to represent Christ to people from all over the area.

Serving at Valley Mission is a favorite outreach venue for our Bridge family. Teams have the opportunity to prepare and serve a hot meal to some of our neighbors in the community that are going through a difficult season. Serving at the Mission is a great way to get to know other members of our Bridge family and of course, great opportunities to share hope and encouragement with our neighbors as well.

Bridge partners with the Love Inc Ministry to walk alongside local men, women as they work through several life changing courses that teach skills involving everything from spiritual, financial, and nutritional life habits. Journeying alongside people as they take these life changing classes provides much needed support and encouragement to people willing to make positive changes in their life.

This Bridge outreach ministry focuses on supporting the administration, staff and students of Wilson, Hugh Cassell & Stuarts Draft  Elementary schools as well as Stuarts Draft High School. Opportunities currently exist and are being developed to support through prayer, encouragement, gifts of appreciation, fun service opportunities, and special events.  We will also be serving the children through this ministry with the Weekend Food project.  If you’re short on time and big on love, is may be perfect for you allowing plenty of flexibility to help when and how you can!

The Bridge Builders ministry encourages individuals and families at Bridge to build relationships with their neighbors! Whether you live on a rural road or in a bustling neighborhood we all have neighbors we can serve and build relationships with. Bridge Builders offers relationship ideas and tools that make meeting and serving your neighbors fun and fulfilling! We can also connect you with other Bridge families that live nearby. In the end we hope to earn the right to share the love of Jesus through our love, availability and service.

new neighbor buckets

If you enjoy meeting people and would be willing to give a new neighbor a free gift from Bridge then this is the ministry for you. We have developed a simple bucket filled with practical things that someone might need when moving into a house. We ask our participants in New Neighbor Bucket Ministry to pick up a bucket at church, deliver them to families and individuals that move in to their community, then pray for opportunities to invite that family to Bridge events.

If you enjoy shooting pictures and/or video, we love for you to help us celebrate our outreach ministries and events by taking photos and videos at our ministries and events. Celebrating what God is doing at Bridge is a big part of our outreach ministry and keeps our whole church and community excited as we share the images of changed and affected lives.

If you have a heart for children or just a love for people in general, we would like for you to consider investing that love in our Foster Care Ministry here at Bridge. This life changing ministry seeks to support foster families, foster care workers, and encourages new families to become foster parents. Regardless of your season of life there is something you can do to impact the beautiful children and dedicated parents in our Foster Care system.

If you have a heart for helping people in need and a willingness to travel, then our National Missions/Disaster Relief Team would be a great fit. This team stands ready to load up and travel to areas that have either long term needs or immediate needs caused by a natural disaster. Participants can be both skilled and unskilled but most importantly must have a heart for serving and a desire to be a warm and friendly example of Jesus to the people in need.

As we move into the fall season, our Bridge family invites the community to join us for one amazing and smile filled evening of fun! There are many ways to join in and serve at Bridgefest, you could join the bustling kitchen team as they prepare and serve food, join the host team as they greet and direct people to the many activities, or help small children at the bouncezone. In addition to the above activities, there are milkshakes to be made, motorcycles to judge, cornhole and volleyball tournaments to organize, and of course Kettle corn to distribute. As August approaches, be sure to keep your eyes open for ways to connect and serve at Bridgefest!

Each November dozens of Bridge volunteers work together to prepare and serve a wonderful Thanksgiving feast for members of our community. We invite and serve members of our fire and rescue teams that are on call, nurses and hospital workers at our local emergency room, as well as many people from our community that may not have family in the area or just want to be surrounded by a warm and loving people during the holiday. Volunteers for the dinner prepare homemade food, decorate tables and serve food, build relationships and share conversation with our guests, and of course, eat. Watch for opportunities to serve at this wonderful outreach this November!

If you have ever wondered where the homeless go in the winter when the temperature drops and the snow flies, then it may be comforting for you to know that churches from all over the area work together to house our homeless community through the cold winter months. Bridge hosts our homeless community for one week each year. During the week volunteers prepare meals, welcome our guests, and host them through the night as they get some much-needed rest. Look for opportunities to serve at the Warm Shelter as the cold month’s approach!
